By BUS
Once you landed at the Puerto Princesa airport, you may hire a tricycle (PHP50-80) to take you to the San Jose bus terminal. This would only take around 15 minutes to reach the terminal. Public buses depart from 5AM, 7AM and 9AM. Like I said before, travel time is much lengthier compare to shuttle/vans because ordinary would stop over at Roxas for lunch and another stop over in Taytay to fetch some passengers. There are only two (5AM and 830AM) El Nido-Puerto Princesa bound trips for regular buses.
RoRo Buses also serve Puerto Prince to El Nido route from 4:00Am to 10:00PM. For bookings and reservations, you may contact this number: 09153077133
Important: This rate is based on my travel to El Nido last October 2011. Fares, schedules and other details might have changed already.
For your island hopping tour, most resorts in El Nido offers package tour, and rates may differ for each resort. If you are on a budget, you may have a customized combination tour (A+B or C+D). You may also directly contact Sir Harvey Templado at (+639263049680) for your island hopping arrangement. He can give you the cheapest deal.
Where to Stay in El Nido | Cheap Accommodation
Contrary to what many believe in, there are also cheap, yet, decent accommodation. Most of the expensive accommodation are located in beach side, while the ones in the El Nido proper are the affordable ones and prices ranges from PHP250-500. I stayed at Hadefe Cottages which can be found in Calaan Beach since I purchased a package tour for El Nido inclusive of Underground river tour as well as Puerto Princesa city tour. Cliffside Cottages (Mobile: +639197856625) is also a budget-friendly accommodation in El Nido.
Other Recommended Activities in El Nido
For sunset viewing, try at Calaan Beach or in Corong-Corong Beach. Nacpan and Calintang twin beaches at mainland El Nido is also worth a visit, but the road is quite difficult. If you do not mind driving a rough road, you may get a habal-habal to bring you to twin beach for PHP500 and would even go lower depending on your haggling skill. Here is a good read about Lakbay Diva's road experience on his way to Nacpan Beach. Taraw Peak is also a must-thing-to-do in El Nido because this provides you a good aerial view of the entire Bacuit Bay. Guide fee is PHP300 and it could take an hour to reach the peak.
